Owen McCown leads UTSA with rare quarterback continuity for 2026 season

Owen McCown enters his fourth season as the starting quarterback for the UTSA Roadrunners in 2026, providing the team with valuable continuity as they prepare for the upcoming season. McCown, the only American Conference quarterback with this experience, has previously faced significant challenges succeeding Frank Harris. Despite lucrative transfer offers last season, McCown chose to remain at UTSA, driven by loyalty to head coach Jeff Traylor and the program. His offensive coordinator position has shifted with the hiring of Rick Bowie, implementing a more air raid-inspired approach. McCown aims to improve from back-to-back 7-6 seasons and elevate the team to new heights.
