Pacers interested in trading for Trey Murphy III from Pelicans

The Indiana Pacers are reportedly pursuing New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III as part of their roster plans for the 2026-27 NBA season. Following a challenging season impacted by Tyrese Haliburton's injury, the Pacers are looking to upgrade their talent pool. NBA insider Marc Stein notes that both the Pacers and the Detroit Pistons have shown intense interest in acquiring Murphy, who has established himself as a reliable scorer. The Pelicans are expected to demand a significant trade package, including players like Andrew Nembhard and potential draft picks from the Pacers, who retain all their first-round options for the upcoming years.
