Packers aiming to trade for Josh Sweat amid Micah Parsons' absence
Summary

The Green Bay Packers are expected to seek a trade for pass-rusher Josh Sweat after losing Micah Parsons for at least five games this season. Sweat has been recovering from a knee injury but participated fully in joint practices with the Packers on August 26. His prior season included a career-best 12 sacks, and he has three years remaining on his four-year, $76.4 million contract. The consensus suggests he could cost a third-round pick in the upcoming 2027 NFL Draft. Discussions around his trade are intensified by the Packers' urgent need for depth on their defense following Parsons' injury and the offseason departure of Rashan Gary.
