Packers Edgerrin Cooper carted off with potential season-ending injury

Summary

During the Green Bay Packers' game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on October 6, 2026, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper suffered a significant Achilles tendon injury in the third quarter. The injury occurred without contact while he pursued Buccaneers quarterback Jalon Daniels. Head coach Matt LaFleur expressed concerns about the severity of the injury, indicating it may end Cooper's season after an MRI confirmed an Achilles tear. The Packers secured a narrow 17-14 win but face challenges ahead, as Cooper joins other sidelined players including wide receiver Jayden Reed and offensive tackle Zach Bako-Bewele.
