Packers evaluate four recent ex-kickers as Trey Smack emerges

The Green Bay Packers have cycled through four kickers in the last three years, contrasting sharply with the stability provided by Mason Crosby from 2007 to 2022. Recently drafted Trey Smack is currently competing for the role, having made all three of his field goal attempts in the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Anders Carlson, Brayden Narveson, Brandon McManus, and Lucas Havrisik are among those who have previously held the position but faced struggles. Carlson has spent time with the 49ers and Jets but is now with the Birmingham Stallions, Narveson has not kicked since being cut, McManus remains unsigned, and Havrisik was released in July ahead of training camp.
