Packers name Aaron Banks starting left guard pending injury status

The Green Bay Packers have designated Aaron Banks as the starting left guard for the Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed the assignment, though Banks’ status remains dependent on his recovery from a knee injury. Banks will participate in a limited capacity during Wednesday’s practice after missing significant time throughout training camp and the preseason. Rookie Jager Burton has taken first-team repetitions at the position during Banks’ absence and remains an alternative option for the offensive line. The team is also managing the return of right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, who is working back from offseason surgery.
