Padres designate Nick Castellanos for assignment
Summary

The San Diego Padres have designated Nick Castellanos for assignment as of June 3, 2026. This move likely stems from the team's need to adjust their roster in light of recent performance issues. Castellanos, an outfielder, has struggled to contribute effectively. The Padres will now seek to find a trade partner or allow him to pass through waivers.
