Padres prospects Kash Mayfield and Ethan Salas play in Futures Game

Ethan Salas and Kash Mayfield of the San Diego Padres participated in the MLB All-Star Futures Game on July 12, 2026, held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Salas batted seventh, recording a single and a walk during his appearances. Mayfield entered the game in the fifth inning but faced difficulties, leading to runs scored against him, with his performance consistent with earlier outings in Fort Wayne. The Padres' minor league system has struggled for consistency overall, with Salas and Mayfield being among the few highlights for the season.
