Painmaker Jericho submits Ciampa at AEW Redemption after intense No Holds Barred match

His loss to Tommaso Ciampa at Dynamite Beach Break beat all the old Kevin Nealon bits out of Jericho. In place of the dad joke-telling babyface he’s been for the most part since returning to AEW a few months back, The Painmaker stepped in. A character/concept Jericho developed in Japan for deathmatches, he’s since written comic books about it and even hopes to turn it into a sci-fi/fantasy/horror movie. It all but necessitates a hardcore match of some kind. At Redemption tonight (July 26) in Montreal, it was a No Holds Barred match. Ciampa doesn’t have a special gimmick when things are no-disqualification, but his nickname is The Psycho Killer. He tried to use a power drill on Jericho at Beach Break, for instance. In Montreal’s Bell Centre, after a bag of sand and fire extinguisher, tables joined the party… BOTH MEN GO CRASHING THROUGH THE TABLE!
