Pakistan drops seven players from Test squad following England series defeat

Pakistan has released seven players and two coaches from its touring squad after losing the first two matches of the three-Test series against England. Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Ali Usman, Aamir Jamal, Muhammad Awais Zafar, and Khurram Shahzad have been sent home. Sarfaraz Ahmed and Umar Gul were also released from the backroom staff and will be replaced by Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke. The management called up seven replacements, including five uncapped players, to bolster the roster ahead of the final Test. England currently holds an unassailable 2-0 series lead after victories at Headingley and Lord's. The teams are scheduled to meet for the third and final match at Edgbaston beginning September 9.
