Panthers coach confirms starters will sit out preseason finale vs. Texans

Summary

Panthers head coach Dave Canales announced the team's starters will not play in the preseason finale against the Texans on Friday. After a joint practice on Wednesday, Canales believed the starters received ample reps, allowing backups to compete for roster spots. The first-team offense struggled earlier in practice, leading to concerns about their performance. With quarterback Bryce Young ruled out and Haynes King recovering from a hamstring injury, Kenny Pickett and Kyle Trask are expected to take charge under center.
