Panthers explain decision not to sign a fourth quarterback

Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales addressed the absence of a fourth quarterback during training camp after the team faced multiple injuries. With offensive tackles Ikem Ekwonu and Taylor Moton and defensive players Tershawn Wharton and Bobby Brown III already sidelined, the loss of rookie receiver Chris Brazzell II and linebacker Nic Scourton to season-ending injuries further complicated roster decisions. Canales noted that the team's immediate needs in other areas, including the offensive line and tight end positions, have taken precedence. Although the Panthers worked out quarterback Kyle Trask earlier in the week, they ultimately opted not to add him to the roster. Currently, the Panthers have three quarterbacks: starter Bryce Young, backup Kenny Pickett, and rookie Haynes King.
