Administrators began discussing the matchup in 2024 to bring the two resilient programs together under the theme of “Two Towns, One Spirit.” Both schools continue to navigate the aftermath of these disasters, with roster sizes and student populations reflecting the ongoing recovery efforts in their towns. The Lunas intend to host a rematch at the Bobcats’ home field in California next year.
