Paris Saint-Germain begins Ligue 1 season with two consecutive draws

Summary

Paris Saint-Germain sits in 11th place in Ligue 1 after drawing 2-2 with both Stade Rennais and Lille OSC. In both matches, head coach Luis Enrique made halftime substitutions to alter the team's momentum following early deficits. The club underwent significant roster turnover this summer, parting ways with players including Gonçalo Ramos, Kang-in Lee, and Randal Kolo Muani while adding Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts, Ferran Torres, and Lucas Digne. Luis Enrique indicated that the increased internal competition for starting spots is intended to prevent complacency after the team's recent UEFA Champions League titles. Meanwhile, AS Monaco holds the top spot in the league table following a 2-0 victory over Olympique de Marseille.
