Paris Saint-Germain faces Slovan Bratislava in Champions League opening match

Defending champion Paris Saint-Germain begins its pursuit of a third consecutive Champions League title against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday at Parc des Princes. Captain Marquinhos acknowledged the difficulty of the campaign, noting that few clubs have achieved three straight European titles. The team enters the match amid a difficult domestic start, having gone winless in their last four matches across all competitions. Manager Luis Enrique recently described the start as catastrophic, citing a loss to Monaco and draws against Rennes and Lille. Slovan Bratislava, managed by Yaya Toure, enters the competition after navigating through three qualifying rounds. The team aims to reinvent its performance after sliding to 14th place in the Ligue 1 standings.
