Pat Fitzgerald prepares Michigan State to host Toledo on Friday

Michigan State head coach Pat Fitzgerald will lead his team for the first time this Friday in a season-opening game against the Toledo Rockets. The contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan, and will be broadcast on FS1. Both programs enter the matchup with new coaching staffs. Fitzgerald stated during his pregame press conference that playing time will be earned rather than promised and noted that roster roles are still being finalized during practice this week. While he acknowledged the pressure of his new position, he characterized the role as an opportunity. The head coach declined to provide injury updates, stating information will be released in an official availability report shortly before kickoff. Fitzgerald also expressed confidence in starting quarterback Alessio Milivojevic following an offseason of development.
