Patrick Johnson earns 53-man roster spot with the Las Vegas Raiders

Patrick Johnson secured a position on the Las Vegas Raiders 53-man roster following a successful preseason performance. The defensive end, who signed with the team in late July, recorded 13 total tackles, two sacks, and a forced fumble during the exhibition period. General manager John Spytek credited Johnson for his consistent progress throughout training camp and his impact on special teams during the preseason finale against the San Francisco 49ers. The Raiders added Johnson to the roster to address depth at edge rusher following an Achilles injury to Keyron Crawford. While undrafted rookie Cian Slone was waived during final cutdowns, he has been signed to the practice squad and remains part of the team's developmental plans. Johnson brings six years of NFL experience to the Raiders' defensive rotation.
