Patrick Mahomes Sr. asks court for travel permission to attend NFL games

Patrick Mahomes Sr. has filed a motion in Texas court requesting permission to travel out of state for his son’s NFL games this season. The 56-year-old former MLB player is currently serving a five-year term of probation following a guilty plea to a driving while intoxicated charge. His motion seeks travel authorization to visit Kansas City, Las Vegas, and Cincinnati for upcoming Kansas City Chiefs games. As part of his request, he agreed to continue submitting urinalysis testing before and after each trip. Mahomes Sr. is under intense supervision following a series of legal issues related to alcohol consumption, including a February 2026 arrest in Smith County. He previously completed 160 hours of community service and an outpatient treatment program as part of his sentencing conditions.
