Patriots announce six team captains for the 2026 NFL season

The New England Patriots have finalized their leadership group for the 2026 season, naming six players as team captains. Returning leaders include quarterback Drake Maye, tight end Hunter Henry, cornerback Marcus Jones, and linebacker Robert Spillane. Safety Kevin Byard III and offensive tackle Morgan Moses join the group as new selections for the upcoming campaign. Maye enters his second season following a campaign that included an AFC East title and a Super Bowl LX appearance. Byard, who signed with the team in March, secured the role after one offseason, while Moses provides veteran leadership on the offensive line. The changes in the captaincy roster follow the placement of linebacker Harold Landry III on the physically unable to perform list and special-teams standout Brenden Schooler on the non-football injury list.
