Patriots face Colts in preseason opener at Gillette Stadium

Summary

The New England Patriots open their preseason against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. Head coach Mike Vrabel announced that quarterback Drake Maye will not participate in the game, likely keeping many regulars off the field as well. Key players to watch include running back Terrell Jennings, who is battling for a roster spot, and rookie tight end Eli Raridon, who has impressed during training camp. This game marks the first opportunity for the Patriots to assess their young players in a competitive setting.
