Patriots meet with LB Shaq Thompson and DL DaQuan Jones

The New England Patriots held meetings with linebacker Shaq Thompson and defensive lineman DaQuan Jones on August 18, 2026. Thompson, who played for the Carolina Panthers for a decade, signed with the Buffalo Bills after being released this offseason. He contributed 56 tackles and a sack during the 2025 regular season and had strong postseason performances. Jones, a teammate of Thompson at the Panthers and Bills, started all games for Buffalo last year, finishing with 22 tackles and three sacks. Both players are looking to continue their careers in New England.
