Patriots' rookie cornerbacks step up at training camp practice

Summary

During a closed training camp practice on August 5, rookie cornerbacks Karon Prunty and Channing Canada practiced with the New England Patriots' top defensive unit. Carlton Davis III is sidelined due to injury, creating openings for Prunty, a fifth-round draft pick from Wake Forest, and Canada, an undrafted rookie from TCU. Both players have shown strong performance, with Prunty intercepting a pass and making plays on the ball against established targets. The Patriots continue their training camp with hopes of assessing the depth of their cornerback position as the season approaches.
