Patriots rule Ben Brown out for the season opener against the Seahawks

The New England Patriots ruled swing interior offensive lineman Ben Brown out for Wednesday's season opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Brown did not travel with the team to Seattle due to a knee injury. The injury occurred during the team's first preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on August 13. With Brown unavailable, veteran offensive lineman Greg Van Roten is expected to step into the role for the Patriots. Van Roten brings experience to the lineup, having started at least 17 games in each of the previous three seasons. Meanwhile, running back TreVeyon Henderson, who has been managing an ankle injury, did not receive an out designation and is expected to be available for the contest.
