Patriots sign defensive tackle DaQuan Jones to one-year contract

The New England Patriots added veteran defensive tackle DaQuan Jones on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million. The contract includes a $3.5 million base salary for the 34-year-old entering his 13th NFL season. Jones spent the previous four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where he started 51 regular-season games and recorded 10 sacks. His arrival marks the sixth former Bills player currently with the New England roster, joining Reggie Gilliam, Mack Hollins, Greg Van Roten, Shane Zylstra, and Mitch Wishnowsky. Jones previously played for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel during a three-year stint with the Tennessee Titans from 2018 through 2020. The addition provides depth to a New England defensive line currently led by Milton Williams and Christian Barmore following the team's season-opening loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
