Patriots sign linebacker K.J. Britt to practice squad

The New England Patriots added veteran linebacker K.J. Britt to their practice squad on Tuesday. This move follows his release from the active roster during the final round of cuts. Britt initially joined the Patriots during the offseason after spending 2025 with the Miami Dolphins. During his time with Miami, he participated in 17 games, recording 35 total tackles and one quarterback hit. Throughout the preseason, he contributed to the New England defense with tackles in games against the Indianapolis Colts and the Philadelphia Eagles. He now provides experienced depth behind Christian Elliss, Robert Spillane, Namdi Obiazor, and Darius Muasau. Britt remains eligible to compete for a spot on the active roster should injury concerns or performance needs arise during the regular season.
