Patriots sign twelve players to initial 2026 practice squad roster

The New England Patriots announced their initial practice squad for the 2026 season on Monday, retaining 11 players recently released during final roster cuts. The group includes running backs Hassan Haskins and Lan Larison, along with defensive players Eric Gregory and Kindle Vildor. Punter Mitch Wishnowsky also joined the squad as the team's only outside addition. The move follows the decision to place punter Bryce Baringer on injured reserve, which will sideline him for at least four weeks. While 12 players were named to the roster, the team retains five additional openings and expects to sign interior offensive lineman Jake Kubas in the coming days. Offensive tackle Lorenz Metz is currently carried as a practice squad exempt player due to his international status.
