Patriots waive linebacker Bradyn Swinson before roster deadline

Summary

The New England Patriots waived outside linebacker Bradyn Swinson on August 30, 2026, ahead of the NFL roster cut deadline. Swinson, a fifth-round draft pick from LSU in 2025, played in three games last season and registered one tackle. After an offseason competing for a larger role within the revamped defense, his performance did not secure a place on the 53-man roster. Swinson now has the opportunity to join another team or possibly return to the Patriots' practice squad.
