Ince expressed reservations regarding the club's recent expenditure of approximately £130 million on midfielders Andrey Santos and Carlos Baleba, suggesting those funds should have targeted full-back or striker positions. Mainoo recently played in the 2-2 draw against Everton on September 6 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. While the midfielder signed a new contract this summer, he is currently tasked with balancing his defensive duties alongside a requirement to contribute more directly to the team's goalscoring output.
