Manchester United icon Paul Scholes has publicly questioned whether the club's signing of Carlos Baleba will prove to be a successful addition to the midfield. The Red Devils completed the transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion in August for an initial £65m fee, with an additional £5m in potential add-ons included in the deal. Baleba is currently recovering from an injury sustained during his time at Brighton and has yet to make his debut for his new club. While former teammate Nicky Butt expressed confidence that Baleba will bring necessary physicality to the midfield, Scholes noted that the player's form last season was inconsistent. The club expects the Cameroonian to return to the squad following the upcoming international break. Manchester United prepares to open its Champions League campaign against Sabah this Thursday.
