Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Alexander Alexeyev is reportedly set to leave the team, signing a two-year contract with Salavat in the KHL. Alexeyev, who had been with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during the 2025-26 season, finished the regular season with three goals and 12 points in 38 games. In the Calder Cup Playoffs, he contributed one goal and five points in 10 games. The 31st overall pick by the Washington Capitals in the 2018 NHL Draft, Alexeyev previously played 80 NHL games, registering one goal and eight points.
