Penguins sign Tommy Novak to three-year contract extension

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Tommy Novak to a three-year contract extension, effective from the 2027-28 season. The contract carries an annual salary cap hit of $4.65 million. Last season, Novak played all 82 games, contributing 16 goals and 26 assists for a total of 42 points. His performance improved following a mid-season shift to second-line center after an injury to Evgeni Malkin. Novak would have been an unrestricted free agent next summer but will now remain with the team for additional seasons.
