Penn State linebacker Tony Rojas joins Hispanic Player of the Year watch list

Penn State linebacker Tony Rojas has been named to the watch list for the Hispanic Player of the Year award. This nomination follows his inclusion on the Comeback Player of the Year and LOTT Impact award watch lists. Rojas returned to practice this year after suffering an injury that ended his previous season during the fourth game. As the only returning starter in his position group, he is expected to lead the Penn State defense while new transfers adjust to the Big Ten. The Hispanic Player of the Year award was established by the Hispanic Football Hall of Fame and previously recognized Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Six other Big Ten players, including Demond Williams Jr., Devin Sanchez, and Peyton Woodyard, also earned spots on the current watch list.
