Pensacola to study feasibility of using Blue Wahoos Stadium for USL soccer

Pensacola plans to conduct a feasibility study on converting Blue Wahoos Stadium to accommodate both soccer and baseball. Mayor D.C. Reeves indicated this decision follows interest from the United Soccer League in establishing a team in the city. The study aims to assess the practicality and costs of making necessary renovations to the stadium. Blue Wahoos Stadium currently features artificial turf, aligning with USL standards, but may require updates as it approaches its 20th anniversary in 2032. USL officials previously sought a stadium site and entertainment district in Pensacola, signaling continued interest despite the expiration of a prior exclusivity agreement.
