Perth Bears sign playmaker Zac Herdegen and edge backrower Zac Lipowicz

The Perth Bears have added Zac Herdegen and Zac Lipowicz to their roster on one-year development deals ahead of the club's 2027 inaugural NRL season. Herdegen, a 20-year-old five-eighth, joins the side following a stint with the Northern Pride where he served as the team's top point-scorer. Lipowicz, a 24-year-old second rower and Polish international, moves to Perth after spending time in the Penrith Panthers' pathways system and the Super League with the Catalans Dragons. Bears coach Mal Meninga confirmed the signings as the franchise works to finalize its Top 30 squad. Both players are scheduled to participate in a preseason program in Western Australia before the club's entry into the NRL. Lipowicz is currently completing his commitments in the Super League finals series before transitioning to his new role.
