Perth Bears target Connor Muhleisen for 2027 NRL season roster

The Perth Bears have identified St George Illawarra Dragons hooker Connor Muhleisen as a potential recruitment target for the 2027 NRL season. Despite a career frequently interrupted by injury, including an ACL tear during the 2026 campaign, Muhleisen recently returned to first-grade action following an injury to Jacob Liddle. The 25-year-old hooker has made 11 first-grade appearances since his 2023 debut and holds significant experience at the NSW Cup level. The Bears are looking to add depth to their hooking rotation as they prepare for their inaugural season, currently holding only Tyson Smoothy as an out-and-out dummy half on their roster. While the Dragons have not officially ruled out retaining the local junior, the emergence of Haele Finau and the planned return of Jacob Liddle may limit Muhleisen's first-grade opportunities in the immediate future.
