Pete Carroll defends Geno Smith after poor Raiders season

Following the departure of Carroll and Smith, the Raiders signed Kirk Cousins and selected Fernando Mendoza with the top pick in the NFL draft. Smith has since joined the New York Jets to compete for a starting role. Cousins is scheduled to start for the Raiders in Week 1, while the team prepares to integrate Mendoza into the offense as the future of the franchise.
