Pete Crow-Armstrong hits 39th home run in Cubs victory over Brewers

The Chicago Cubs defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 on Thursday at Wrigley Field to earn a series split. Pete Crow-Armstrong provided the deciding margin with a two-run home run in the third inning off Brewers starter Logan Henderson. Kevin Gausman earned the win on the mound for Chicago, striking out nine batters over his seven innings of work. Andrew Vaughn recorded the only run for Milwaukee with a 420-foot solo homer in the fourth inning. Cubs relievers Ryan Zeferjahn and Ryan Rolison combined to hold the lead through the final two innings. The win marked the Cubs' second 2-1 victory of the season and their second win of the year while recording three or fewer hits.
