Welsh Fire captain Phil Salt expressed a desire for an extended schedule for The Hundred, ideally by a week, after his team played three games in five days. Salt's comments followed Welsh Fire's recent results, including victories over Birmingham Phoenix and Southern Brave, alongside a loss to Manchester Super Giants. The format currently allows teams to play eight matches in 23 days, a stark contrast to other T20 leagues like the IPL and Big Bash League. The Professional Cricketers Association has raised concerns regarding player welfare amid a congested schedule. Welsh Fire is set to face Sunrisers Leeds at Headingley on August 7 and London Spirit on August 10, continuing the group stage matches.
