The Philadelphia 76ers selected Charles Bassey with the No. 53 pick in the 2021 NBA draft. Bassey, a big man from Western Kentucky, played 23 games for the 76ers in the 2021-22 season, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. After being waived before the 2022-23 season, he signed with the San Antonio Spurs and has since had stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, a return to the 76ers, and the Boston Celtics, before playing with the Golden State Warriors during the 2025-26 season. He recorded two points and one block in his lone game back with Philadelphia on February 11, 2026.
