Philadelphia Eagles move towards finalizing 53-man roster for 2026

Summary

The Philadelphia Eagles are in the process of reducing their roster from 90 players to the mandated 53-man squad ahead of the regular season. This comes after a preseason finish of 0-3, with their last game resulting in a 30-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Key decisions will involve players like Darius Cooper and Drew Kendall, who were held out of the final game, while Carson Steele made a case for a roster spot. The injury situation of Andre’ Sam has complicated the safety positions. The deadline for roster cuts is set for 6 p.m. ET on August 30, 2026.
