Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts joins Athletes for Hope leadership council

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts joined the Athlete Leadership Council for the nonprofit organization Athletes for Hope on Thursday. The organization, which provides charitable guidance and community connection for athletes across various sports, includes members such as Stephen Curry, Katie Ledecky, Nathan Chen, Elena Delle Donne, Gabby Thomas and Ezra Frech. In his new role, Hurts will mentor student-athletes and provide support for youth-centered initiatives, including the CHAMPS program that promotes leadership and wellness to elementary students. This appointment builds on Hurts' existing philanthropic work through the Jalen Hurts Foundation and his youth initiatives in the Philadelphia area. Athletes for Hope was founded in 2006 by a group that included Muhammad Ali and Mia Hamm to increase athlete-led community service. The organization currently supports more than 400,000 students through its primary community outreach programs.
