Philadelphia Eagles sign running back Jaydon Blue to practice squad

The Philadelphia Eagles signed running back Jaydon Blue to their practice squad on Monday. The move follows his release by the Dallas Cowboys during Sunday's final roster cuts. A fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft, Blue cleared waivers after being cut by Dallas, making him available to all teams. He recorded 23 carries for 94 yards throughout the 2026 preseason, including a 75-yard performance against the Arizona Cardinals. Philadelphia maintains Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley on its active 53-man roster, with Blue joining Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele on the practice squad. The team intends to use this time to evaluate the developmental potential of the young running back as a depth option should injuries arise during the season.
