Philadelphia Union midfielder Cavan Sullivan draws interest for USMNT call-up

Philadelphia Union midfielder Cavan Sullivan is currently attracting national attention following a string of high-level performances in Major League Soccer. The 16-year-old recently became the first teenager to record a goal contribution in five consecutive matches, including a goal in the club's 2-0 win against CF Montreal this past Saturday. While Sullivan has represented the United States at various youth levels, he has not yet appeared for the senior national team. U.S. head coach Mauricio Pochettino stated that he is carefully managing the development of young players as the team prepares to open its next cycle against Peru on September 26. Sullivan is under contract with the Philadelphia Union and holds a transfer agreement to join Manchester City when he turns 18. He is scheduled to play for the Union against FC Cincinnati on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
