Phillies consider lineup changes as Trea Turner struggles in August

The Philadelphia Phillies are evaluating their lineup as shortstop Trea Turner struggles at the plate. In August, Turner is hitting just.209 with 18 strikeouts in 21 games, contrasting sharply with the team's overall offensive improvement. Manager Don Mattingly downplayed the urgency to move Turner from his second spot in the lineup, suggesting stability is important despite Turner's recent performance. The Phillies face potential challenges in balancing left-handed hitters if Turner is moved down, leading to considerations about lineup optimization. As the pennant race heats up, the team seeks to unlock Turner's potential to aid their offensive success.
