Phillies scout Tarik Skubal ahead of trade deadline

The Philadelphia Phillies are reportedly scouting Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers as the trade deadline approaches. Following a rough stretch of losing six of their last seven games, the Phillies are in need of reinforcements, especially in pitching and hitting. Bryce Harper has publicly urged the front office to seek help. Skubal, who is expected to be a rental, could be dealt soon, especially after the Phillies scouted him during his last start. He is scheduled to pitch again on Wednesday, which may be his final outing for the Tigers if a trade occurs before then.
