Pierce O’Leary records 51 appearances during his tenure with Celtic

Irish defender Pierce O’Leary joined Celtic in November 1984 following a £50,000 transfer from the Vancouver Whitecaps. During his time with the club, he contributed to a Scottish Cup victory in 1985 and secured a league title medal in 1986. O’Leary captained the side during a 2-0 testimonial match win for his brother David O’Leary against Arsenal at Highbury. Despite these achievements, pelvic and subsequent injuries limited his playing time and eventually prompted his release at the end of the 1987/88 campaign. O’Leary concluded his career after failing to sign with a new club, ultimately making 51 appearances and scoring one goal for Celtic.
