Pinkerton Academy chases fifth consecutive division one cross country title

Pinkerton Academy begins its defense of four consecutive Division I state cross country championships this fall. Coach Jon Alizio faces a rebuilding task after graduating five of the team’s top eight competitors, including standout performers Kalisan Marzolf and Gabrielle Bedard. Returning athletes Sookie Folsom and Naomi Ebhaleme lead the roster as the Astros contend with a competitive field, particularly Exeter, which returns its entire lineup. Meanwhile, other Division I programs look to advance, with Londonderry building upon a ninth-place finish and Windham returning its top six runners after placing seventh at the state championship last year. Pelham, competing in Division III, looks to improve on its sixth-place finish behind the return of top runner Addison Martin. The season marks a new start for Timberlane as well, with coach Mike Woodworth leading a program focused on senior leadership and the introduction of new talent.
