Piper Niven shares health update six weeks post neck surgery

During an August 2025 match against Charlotte Flair on SmackDown, Niven reportedly aggravated a pre-existing neck injury. The injury was apparently severe enough to cause concern about whether the Scottish wrestler would ever be able to compete again. The timing of the injury was also unfortunate for the WWE star, as Niven was enjoying a popular stint as a member of Chelsea Green’s Secret Hervice. Last month, Niven revealed on X (Twitter) that she had undergone an anterior discectomy. On Thursday (June 25), she followed up in an X post that sounded like she was hopeful about the progress she’s made since the surgery. “6 week post surgery check up today. Everything fusing nicely,” she wrote in a message containing an X-ray of her neck that showed the screws in her neck. Niven, who is openly bisexual, followed up with a cheeky message that read: “Neck straighter than my sexual preferences.” Neck straighter than my sexual preferences. https://t.co/4QhbbIEXvb — Slaygent P (@PiperNivenWWE) June 25, 2026 She continued on with this line of humor when a fan wrote “as long as it lets you turn to both sides” by replying, “Very happy to say it does let me go both ways yes.” When one person wrote that she would likely need a follow-up procedure, Niven responded: “Yes that was partially why it took so long as what would have been ‘best’ was a triple fusion but a triple fusion would have meant no return to the ring and well, I wanted to fight and see how I do with the one level first so it took time deliberating what symptoms came from where.” In another message, she wrote: “Neck movement is already waaay better than it was, for a while my neck was in a permanent spasm which is why it’s ended up so straight but it’s much better now!” We at Cageside Seats continue to wish Niven a full and speedy recovery.
