Pirates prepare for return of Konnor Griffin from injured list

The Pittsburgh Pirates finish their final stretch of the season with 24 games remaining, including a upcoming home stand at PNC Park. Shortstop Konnor Griffin, who has been on the 60-day injured list following surgery to repair a torn tendon in his left ring finger, is approaching his return to the lineup. Griffin began a rehab assignment with Double-A Altoona and will transition to Triple-A Indianapolis for games starting Tuesday. He is eligible to be activated from the injured list on Friday and may play against the Los Angeles Angels.
