The Detroit Pistons selected Virginia center Ugonna Onyenso with the No. 53 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. This decision comes shortly after the team traded Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for three future second-round draft picks. Onyenso, 21, averaged 6.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks in just 18.6 minutes per game last season, providing the Pistons with a potential rim protector. This marks the second draft selection for Detroit, having previously moved up to select Stanford guard Ebuka Okorie at No. 17 overall.
